Photos Explained:
2x colour passport photos (3,5 x 4,5cm) taken against a white background with good contrast/clear/good quality, printed on normal photographic paper (not scanned), and full face without glasses or head covering.
Nexus Visas now have facilities to take passport photos at their offices for an additional fee.

(Self-Employed) (Student) (Au-Pair/Domestic Worker)
Employment Requirements Explained:
The Letter of Employment must include the following:
- Applicants position
- Signatories position (Signature must be original. A scanned signature will not be acceptable)
- Date of leave and Date of Return
- Applicants start date with the company
- Companies registration or VAT number
The letter must be dated less than 1 month of application.
If Self-Employed:
- A letter from your accountant/bank manager/solicitor confirming this.
If you are self employed and cannot provide a letter from any of the above then we will be unable to assist with your application.
If you are Student:
- Official up-to-date letter (less than 1 month) from your school, college or university stating the type of studies, details of course and attendance record.
If you are an Au-Pair/Domestic Worker:
- An up-to-date letter from your employer, as above
- Employer’s valid passport
- Original Bank Statement - with minimum balance of £1,000.00

Bank Statement Explained:
Original bank statement must be less than 1 month old and show a positive balance no less than £1,000.00 and include the applicant's home address. If the bank statement is more than 1 month old then an internet printout must be included.
- Proof of fully paid Travel

Travel Tickets Explained:
Original tickets must show the applicant is entering and leaving Australia.
Original booking confirmation acceptable in place of tickets if proof of full payment is submitted.
Applicants name MUST be included on the confirmation.
- Proof of Accommodation in Australia

Accommodation Explained:
Fax copies acceptable.
Dates must match the travel booking exactly.
If staying with friends/family, a letter is required from the Invitee as well as a copy of his/her passport.
Emails will not be acceptable from the concierge/receptionist at the hotel. It must be an official confirmation on hotel letterhead.
- Travel Insurance (valid in Australia)

Travel Insurance Explained:
Travel insurance must cover the duration of the visa requested and cover all hospital/medical/repatriation costs.
Ensure that Australia is included in your travel insurance cover.

- Passports must be valid for duration of stay.
The following DO NOT require a visa:
- Nationals of Australia;
- Nationals of New Zealand who hold & produce New Zealand passports that are in force;
- Permanent residents of Norfolk Island holding endorsed passports confirming authority to reside indefinitely in Norfolk Island
- The Electronic Travel Authority System (ETA), an invisible electronic visa, is available to holders of the following passports for stays up to 3 months:
- Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong (S.A.R. passport holders), Iceland, Ireland Rep, Italy, Japan, Korea (South), Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United States & Vatican City;
- Holders of United Kingdom passports, however passports where the holder's nationality is shown to be British National (Overseas) - (BN(O) passports) can only be processed for an ETA if resident in & applying in Hong Kong
- Holders of Taiwan passports can only be processed for an ETA if resident in & applying in Taiwan;
- Citizens from all countries listed above, except BNO & Taiwanese passport holders can apply for a Visitor ETA or Short Validity Business ETA from the Department of Immigration & Multicultural & Indigenous Affairs website.
- Citizens of countries not listed above and those wishing to stay longer than 3 months should apply for a non-ETA "label" visa.
