- Where a visa is not required passports must be valid for the duration of intended stay;
- Where a visa is required passports must be valid for at least 3 months longer that the validity of visa issued.
The following DO NOT require a visa:
- Nationals of Austria;
- For an unrestricted length of stay by:
- Holders of British passports with the inscription British Citizen, European Union or British National (Overseas)
- Holders of passports issued by Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland Rep, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden & Switzerland
- For stays up to 90 days by:
- Holders of passports issued by Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Hong Kong (SAR only), Israel, Korea (South), Macao (SAR only), Malaysia, Monaco, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, San Marino, Singapore, United States, Uruguay, Vatican City & Venezuela
- Holders of permanent residency in any of the Schengen member states, are entitled to re-enter the Schengen area without a visa on production of proof of residence & passport
- Nationals of Japan up to 6 months
- Visitors may enter Austria holding a one-way ticket, provided holding sufficient funds to purchase an onward/return ticket & adequate funds for length of stay
- Member of Schengen Visa Agreement, however we strongly recommend that travellers make enquiries prior to travel with the appropriate embassies of the countries within the agreement which they plan to visit
