Please note that a multiple entry visa is issued at the DISCRETION of the Embassy. Even if you have requested a multiple entry visa on your application it is by no means guaranteed that you will get one.
- Those who have applied in person & been rejected, cannot then apply through an agency.
- Passports with a rejection stamp (even if cancelled) from the French or another consulate cannot be presented via agencies.
- Applicants whose UK residency is "loose leaf" & not stamped in their passport, will be rejected.
- We will be unable to assist if a minor is travelling without their parent/s.

UK Residency Explained:
Applicants on a Class "C" visa must apply direct to the consulate regardless of the validity issued.
Applicant's UK RESIDENCY visa must be valid for at least 6 months and 1 day in total and must be valid 3 months beyond the expiry date of the visa applied for.
If you are a dependent then you will need to provide your spouse/partners passport and original marriage certificate if applicable.
If a minor is travelling (under 18) then the original birth certificate must be provided.

Application Form Explained:
Please ensure that you sign twice on the last page of the application form (Question 37 & at the bottom of the page).

Photos Explained:
2x colour passport photos (3,5 x 4,5cm) taken against a white background with good contrast/clear/good quality, printed on normal photographic paper (not scanned), and full face without glasses or head covering.
Passport photos must be less than six months old from date of application.

(Self-Employed) (Student) (Au-Pair/Domestic Worker)
Employment Requirements Explained:
The Letter of Employment must include the following:
- Applicants position
- Signatories position (Signature must be original. A scanned signature will not be acceptable)
- Date of leave and Date of Return
- Applicants start date with the company
- Companies registration or VAT number
The letter must be dated less than 1 month of application.
If Self-Employed:
- A letter from your accountant/bank manager/solicitor confirming this.
If you are self employed and cannot provide a letter from any of the above then we will be unable to assist with your application.
If you are Student:
- Official up-to-date letter (less than 1 month) from your school, college or university stating the type of studies, details of course and attendance record.
If you are an Au-Pair/Domestic Worker:
- An up-to-date letter from your employer, as above
- Employer’s valid passport
- Original Contract of Employment
- Last 3 (monthly or weekly) payslips (or invoices if Self-Employed)
- Original bank statement

Bank Statement Explained:
Bank statements must be less than 1 month old and show a minimum positive credit balance of £55 per day of stay. It must show your name, account details, and transactions. Originals that have been posted to your house are advisable but not mandatory. If the bank statement is more than 1 month old then an internet printout can be included or a printout from inside the bank branch.The embassy will not accept bank statements that are in overdraft.
If a bank statement cannot be provided then travellers cheques showing £55 or €55 per day spent will also be acceptable.

Travel Tickets Explained:
Original tickets must show the applicant is entering France as their main destination.
Original booking confirmation acceptable in place of tickets if proof of full payment is submitted. Most email confirmations will be acceptable i.e. Eurostar, Easyjet, BA, etc.
If driving please provide the car’s MOT, registration and insurance. If you are not the driver please show a letter from the driver of the car stating that you are a passenger. This must be signed and dated.

Accommodation Explained:
Bookings through VENERE, FORMULA 1 or BOOKINGS.COM will not be accepted as accommodation bookings. Please do not book through these websites.

Important Notice: In addition to your accommodation reservation (from a travel agency i.e. Expedia, hostel bookers, Thompson etc), the French Embassy requires an email confirmation issued directly by the hotel. It must clearly state your full names, the dates of check-in and out, the hotel address and contact details.
If staying with friends/family, an original 'Certificate of Board and Lodging' ('Attestation d'Accueil') must be obtained by the inviting party in France. Dates must match the travel booking exactly. This is obtained from the local Town hall ('Mairie') or Police Station ('Gendarmerie' or 'Commissariat de Police')
- Original Travel Insurance

Travel Insurance Explained:
Travel insurance must cover the duration of the visa requested and cover all hospital/medical/repatriation costs.
The longer your insurance is valid for the longer your visa MAY be issued for i.e. if your insurance is valid for the duration of your trip then the visa will only be valid for the duration of your trip.

If you are married to an EU National you will only need to include the following:
- Applicants passport;
- Spouses passport;

If the marriage certificate is in language that is not English or French it must be translated and certified by that specific embassy

- Original Full Birth Certificate, stating both parents’ names, with official translation if not in French or English. This official translation must be certified as a true copy by your Embassy/ Consulate or by the legalisation bureau of the Foreign Office in GB;
- Parents’ valid passports or certified copies if the parents are residing abroad.
