UK Residency Explained:
Non UK residents and those who are residents for less than one year can expect visa issuing procedure of minimum 10 working days once the application is at the embassy. An additional fee will apply.
- Completed and signed the Indian Visa application form/s;
- 2x passport photos (click to download);
Photos Explained:
2x colour passport photos (3,5 x 4,5cm) taken against a white background with good contrast/clear/good quality, printed on normal photographic paper (not scanned), and full face without glasses or head covering.
Nexus Visas now have facilities to take passport photos at their offices for an additional fee.
- Additional documents for Non-British Passport Holders:
- Bank Statement or utilities bill dated 12 months ago;
- Current Bank Statement or Utilities Bill.
Non-UK passport holders will also need to supply:
- A bank statement, utility bill or Council tax bill from one year ago. (ie: if it is 2009 now, the bill must be dated 2008)
- A recent bank statement, utility bill or council tax bill from this year.
If travelling with minors please supply the following:
- Copy of both parents passports
- Letter of consent confirming the minors travel signed by both parents.
- Full birth certificate

- Passports must be valid 6 months beyond intended length of stay.
The following DO NOT require a visa:
- Nationals of India;
- Nationals of Bhutan & Nepal;
- For stays up to 90 days by nationals of Maldives within a six month period;
- For stays up to 60 days by nationals of Cambodia;
- For stays up to 30 days by nationals of Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Laos & Uruguay.
- An Income Tax Clearance or a Tax Exemption Certificate is required by all persons requiring an entry visa having stayed more than 180 days with the exception of holders of tourist, transit or courtesy visas.
